International Finance and Accounting (IFA) is an English-taught programme. Right from the start we would like to make you feel comfortable with the world of international business. Therefore, we communicate in English about studying IFA at Saxion. Would you like to play a part in the world of international economics or do you just think it is interesting to study in an international group? Then think about studying International Finance and Accounting (IFA) at Saxion University of Applied Sciences.

International Finance and Accounting
As an international financial specialist, you are indispensable. Every business needs an employee with financial expertise to make sure that the organisation is in good financial health. On top of financial knowledge, you will need to have strong communication skills to present your plans to your manager or the board of directors. During this programme, you gain financial knowledge and develop your intercultural communication skills.

The immediate relation between theory and practical experience is typical for International Finance and Accounting. The study forms an excellent basis for a career in business or public services in your home country or far abroad. There is also a possibility to study your Master's at a Dutch or foreign university. The content is comparable to the Dutch studies of Business Economics.
What will you learn?

During this programme, you will acquire knowledge about financial management, financial accounting and business communication. You will also learn research- and computer skills. The lectures are competence-oriented and problem-guided and take place in small classes with a maximum of 25 persons. These classes have around 15 different nationalities. You will work on internationally-aimed practical cases and have a compulsory semester abroad, for example in Malaysia or UK.

Opleidingsinhoud

First year
In the foundation year, we work primarily on basic knowledge, which you will need as a financial specialist. There are no boundaries. You will follow lectures in micro/macroeconomics, financial accounting, international law, financial management and business communication.

Second year
From the second year on, we will go more deeply into the matter of finances. We will teach you to look at economic relations, financial markets, currency markets, investments, risk management, marketing and international laws and rules in the field of economics, finance and accounting, from an international perspective.

Third and fourth year
In the third year you will get a more profound knowledge in the subjects of accounting, auditing and research skills. It is also time to deploy your theoretical knowledge in an international, practical environment. You will learn to do this during your internship.
In your elective course, you will concentrate on a subtopic of your choice. You can choose to either study a specific topic in-depth or broaden your range of courses. You continue your studies by doing your graduation research project in the fourth year. The two periods both take half a year and you will spend this time in a country other than your home country.

Vooropleiding

Als je je voor een hoger beroepsopleiding wilt inschrijven, moet je rekening houden met een aantal spelregels. Je moet je uiterlijk op 1 mei via Studielink aanmelden. Verder is het verplicht om deel te nemen aan een studiekeuzecheck. Bij Saxion houdt dat in dat je verplicht moet deelnemen aan intakeactiviteiten die gevolgd worden door een studiekeuzeadvies.
International Finance and Accounting is een Engelstalige studieroute binnen de opleiding Bedrijfseconomie.
Verder moet je ook om te kunnen beginnen met de studieroute International Finance and Accounting, voldoen aan de toelatingseisen van de betreffende studieroute.

Opleidingsduur

4 jaar

Kosten

In het hoger onderwijs moet je collegegeld betalen aan de hogeschool of universiteit die door de overheid gefinancierd wordt. Bij een hoger onderwijsinstelling die door de overheid gefinancierd wordt, is het collegegeld voor bepaalde groepen vastgesteld. Naast deze kosten krijg je te maken met schoolkosten, zoals boekenkosten, reiskosten etc. Deze bijdrage verschilt per school.

• Voltijdse opleiding:
  

Voor het studiejaar 2019/2020 (start 1 september) is het wettelijke collegegeld vastgesteld op € 2.083,-

• Deeltijd of duale opleiding:
  

Volg je een deeltijd of duale opleiding dan bedraagt het collegegeld voor het studiejaar 2019/2020 tussen de € 1.240,- en de € 2.083,-. Dit bedrag wordt door de instelling vastgesteld.

Het wettelijk collegegeld wordt jaarlijks geïndexeerd.
